Bluetooth A2DP on Windows 7

Having just purchased a new Bluetooth headset, the Jabra Clipper, and successfully paired it with my iPad and Mobile Phone I thought that I would pair it with my Laptop and Desktop. Initially i thought this would be easy. However, after an initial pairing and the device showing up in the Bluetooth Devices Windows reported that there were no drivers!

After some searching and reading a number of articles I found that Microsoft, in there wisdom, dropped A2DP support from Windows 7, expecting hardware manufacturures to supply the drivers. All very well but how to find them.

My laptop, a Lenovo T61p, was relatively easy as installing the latest Lenovo Bluetooth drivers fixed the problem. The headset connected fine and can be used for listening to music, making Skype calls and using GotoMeeting

Getting things working on the PC was a little more difficult as my bluetooth dongle was supplied with with my Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000 and came with no A2DP drivers. Searching around on the web it seemed that I needed to install the Broadcom drivers (Windows Vista/7 (32/64bit) (Broadcom Generic) - v6.2.0.9700) with would add the A2DP profile to the Bluetooth stack. After installing these everything is working fine.
